Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to interpret financial data and identify trends
- Knowledge of hospital financial operations, reimbursement, and reporting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Assist the CFO in administering general accounting, patient business services, third-party reimbursement, and financial/statistical reporting functions
- Prepare, analyze, and monitor monthly financial statements and operating budgets
- Assist in development of long- and short-range operational and financial plans
- Monitor hospital financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Recommend and support budget modifications and departmental budget development
- Direct preparation of internal financial reports and audit work papers
- Maintain subsidiary financial records and prepare financial statements
- Implement and monitor accounting controls and procedures
- Supervise facility-level Controllers and provide leadership and performance oversight
- Support ethics and compliance initiatives in alignment with company standards
- Assist in cost reduction strategies and revenue enhancement initiatives
- Ensure timely submission of required financial reports to government and regulatory agencies
- Provide oversight or support for data processing, materials management, and medical records functions
- Act with full authority of the CFO in their absence
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, and contractors

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and analytical focus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and analyzing data
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or Master's Degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience at the Controller level in an acute-care, for-profit hospital required
- Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
- Approachable, collaborative, and professional demeanor
