A well-established and growing financial institution is seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee and enhance its residential mortgage quality control program. This position serves as a key subject matter expert within the organization, partnering with compliance, lending, operations, and third-party vendors to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the organization's residential mortgage quality control program and monthly review schedule.
- Coordinate and serve as the primary liaison with third-party QC vendors.
- Review, analyze, and validate quality control findings and identify trends, root causes, and potential areas of risk.
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate findings, implement corrective actions, and improve processes.
- Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and investor guidelines impacting mortgage operations.
- Develop reporting and presentations for management related to quality control results, trends, and risk assessments.
- Support broader risk and compliance initiatives, including regulatory reporting and monitoring activities.
- Participate in vendor oversight, control testing, and business continuity efforts as needed.
- Recommend process improvements that strengthen controls, mitigate risk, and enhance operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in residential mortgage quality control, mortgage compliance, underwriting, audit, or a related function.
- Strong understanding of mortgage loan processing, underwriting, closing, and servicing activities.
- Knowledge of agency and investor requirements, including FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and related guidelines.
- Working knowledge of applicable mortgage regulations, including HMDA, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, Fair Lending, and other federal and state requirements.
- Ability to independently analyze findings and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Experience working with third-party review vendors, auditors, or regulatory entities preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant industry certifications are a plus.
