What You'll Do:
- Promote safety by leading by example, participating in safety engagement, and encouraging the team to work safe each day and to follow all safety guidelines and procedures
- Cultivate a culture focused on continuous improvement in safety performance
- Lead the team by personal example with a positive attitude, setting the standards for the team
- Coordinate the daily staffing of equipment to ensure the best possible utilization of machines, maximize overall throughput to meet the needs of our customers.
- Ensure adequate communication between crew and other departments
- Responsible for thoroughly understanding product quality expectations and contributors to product quality and making suggestions for improvement in processes.
- Support lean manufacturing activities
- Resolve process and equipment problems on shift
- Responsible for overall employee relations on shift and conducting discipline meetings, interviews, performance appraisals and making recommendations regarding employee compensation
- Oversee training for the shift, based on the training plan
- 5Y super user and serves as quality mentor
- Trained as first responder
- Participate in various teams and/or committees.
- Complete investigations into accidents/employee issues and prepare report of findings
- Provide direction and guidance to employees, including setting performance standards
- Support management, company policies, procedures, and initiatives
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience that provides the qualifications to perform the job duties
- 2 to 4 years of previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
- Solid computer and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lead others and give direction in a positive, professional manner
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
- Knowledge of poly coating, silicone coating, slitting, and printing preferred
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours
- Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes
- 12-hour rotating night shifts (7PM-7AM) on C crew.
- Rotating schedule, including every other weekend, or rotating day off.
