Key Responsibilities
- As the Project Manager, you are responsible for overseeing structure activity and staff, ensuring compliance with company procedures throughout.
- Manage and motivate the site team
- Responsibility for maintaining excellent client relationships
- Ensuring that end product meets client’s expectation in relation to build and finish
- Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
- Preparing and continuous monitoring of program throughout the life of the project ensuring practical completion times are met.
- In conjunction with works manager/Foreman, planning the resources required to achieve the construction program (plant, labour and subcontractors) and sourcing and monitoring against budgets
- Authorisation of subcontract progress claims and/or suppliers and subcontractors invoices
- Working with works manager/QS to recognise variations, quantity increases and additional scope of works for the production of appropriate variation correspondence to client QS team
- Monitoring daily costs with works manager and QS making adjustments if unit costs are excessive.
- Preparation of end of month progress claims and timely submission to client for approval.
- Promotes safety and demonstrates safe behaviour and compliance with Health and Safety Legislation
- Providing specialist technical leadership
- Hold and/or attend regular review/updating meetings with the wider team
- Provide regular updates on the progress of works to the Contracts Manager
- Demonstrated significant civil engineering experience and responsibility and or in a related field and industry.
- Civil Engineering or relevant qualification
- Highly developed communication, negotiating and analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, the community, customers and management groups.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and management in the operating of a medium to large size complex civil and construction organisation.
- Ability to work effectively as a team leader of a multi disciplinary team in a civil and construction environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality assurance including the ability to identify and rectify problems and prevent non-conformities.
- Able to work within a team
- Adaptable, motivated and uses own initiative
- Proficient with Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to communicate strategy to the wider team
- Experience of working within a collaborative environment
