Role Overview
The VP, Data Operations & Governance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of investment data across the CEPRES Platform. This role leads global data operations and analyst teams, driving the collection, processing, validation, and delivery of high-quality investment data while continuously improving efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
The VP will focus on optimizing data operations to meet evolving client and business requirements, ensuring processes, workflows, and data delivery capabilities support a high-quality client experience. This includes establishing KPIs and SLAs to maintain consistent quality, productivity, turnaround times, and service performance across global operations.
The role is also responsible for building and developing a high-performing global organization, fostering accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. By leveraging process improvements, automation, and scalable operating models, the VP will drive operational effectiveness while ensuring CEPRES can support increasing client demands and business growth.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Commercial teams, and senior leadership, the VP will act as a key bridge between client needs and data operations, translating client requirements into scalable operational solutions and data delivery enhancements while ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and service.
Experience with private markets or financial data is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Data Operations & Quality
- Lead and develop a high-performing global data management organization, including data analysts and operations specialists, ensuring the capabilities, processes, and accountability needed to deliver high-quality financial data and operational excellence.
- Drive operational performance by managing KPIs and SLAs that support client requirements, data quality standards, delivery timelines, and overall service excellence.
- Lead the alignment and standardization of operational reporting, KPI definitions, and performance measures across the data organization, ensuring consistent performance tracking and continuous process improvement.
- Establish scalable processes and tools that ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, and timeliness across all datasets.
- Optimize data management processes from end-to-end within the data value flow to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement, using KPIs, and automation to optimize workflows and elevate data quality.
- Drive adoption of documentation, standardization, and best practices across the data analyst function.
- Ensure full compliance with data governance, privacy, and security frameworks
- Build and run KPI driven data flow and quality measurement systems that optimizes productivity serving as a basis for senior management reporting.
- Develop capacity and workforce plans aligned with business demand, ensuring the right organizational structure, skills, and resources are in place to support growth.
- Ensure successful execution of contractual commitments by overseeing service delivery performance, monitoring compliance with agreed SLAs and obligations, and proactively addressing risks to client satisfaction and business outcomes.
Technology and AI
- Drive adoption of emerging technologies, including LLMs and GenAI tools, to improve data quality, automation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Partner with tech, product, and business leadership to prioritize data initiatives and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Establish and enforce data governance, quality, and security standards across all systems and teams.
Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Drive initiatives to measure and improve data quality, consistency, and completeness.
- Implement and enforce data governance policies, data access controls, and lineage tracking while ensuring CEPRES’ strict data compliance and security regulations.
Stakeholder Enablement & Collaboration
- Serve as a strategic partner to product, engineering, commercial, and executive teams.
- Provide internal and external stakeholders with the tools, documentation, and training needed to work effectively with data.
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science / engineering or equivalent, MBA in finance and related subjects in place
- 10+ years of related experience in data operations, stewardship or Data Strategy, governance and/or analytics, with 5+ years in a team leadership role.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines and related technologies and software delivery lifecycle processes.
- Good grasp on the new LLM technologies and practical application to data products and workflows.
- Proven ability to manage custom, client-facing analysis and project delivery in a financial or B2B environment.
- Solid grasp of data privacy and security standards in terms of data governance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Strong project and operational management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage risks, and drive continuous process improvement.
Preferred:
- Background in private markets, asset management, venture capital, or investment data.
- Proven track record of leading data engineering/data science teams at scale, with the ability to translate business strategy into a technical data roadmap and influence senior stakeholders
