Position Overview

Odyssey Information Services is seeking a Site Safety Manager for a mission-critical facility project in West Texas.

This is not a traditional construction safety position. The project involves specialized services within an active mission-critical environment, including technical and post-construction cleaning, contamination control, raised-access flooring, passive fire protection and aisle containment.

Candidates must have safety experience that includes cleaning operations, chemical handling, contamination control or similar work within an industrial, construction, data center or critical-facility environment.

The position requires an onsite presence for the duration of the project. No per diem or travel allowance is available, so candidates must currently live in West Texas or be able to maintain their own local accommodations for the duration of the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and enforce site-specific safety programs and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct daily site inspections and correct unsafe conditions or work practices
  • Oversee safety related to technical cleaning, chemical handling, SDS documentation and contamination-control procedures
  • Monitor work around energized equipment, including Arc Flash awareness and Lockout/Tagout
  • Manage safety associated with raised floors, cables, ladders, fall protection and wet-floor procedures
  • Ensure appropriate PPE and ESD procedures are followed around sensitive electronic equipment
  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks and project-specific training
  • Verify employee and subcontractor safety credentials
  • Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate with project leadership, subcontractors and client safety representatives
  • Maintain required safety documentation and exercise stop-work authority when necessary

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of site safety experience in construction, industrial, electrical or mission-critical environments
  • Experience supporting technical/post-construction cleaning, chemical handling, contamination control or closely related specialty work
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
  • OSHA 500 Trainer Course certification
  • OSHA 510 Construction Safety certification
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety requirements
  • Strong communication, leadership and documentation skills
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Ability to work onsite in West Texas for the duration of the project without employer-provided per diem

Preferred Experience

  • Data center or mission-critical facility projects
  • Technical cleaning or contamination-control environments
  • Raised-access flooring, aisle containment or passive fire protection
  • Energized electrical environments, Arc Flash and permit-to-work systems
  • ESD controls and cleaning procedures for sensitive electronic equipment
  • CHST, CSP, CPR, First Aid or AED certifications
