Role Summary
We are seeking an outstanding Country Sales Leader, Splunk Austria to lead our business operations and market presence for Splunk in Austria. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall success of the Austrian market, driving significant growth across a diverse portfolio of enterprise customers. You will define and execute the country-level go-to-market strategy, cultivate high-level executive relationships, and position Splunk as a strategic partner to help our customers accelerate their digital resilience and business transformation.

You are an expert in disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and fostering sustainable, long-term growth. You bring the executive presence, strategic acumen, and leadership to inspire your team while consistently delivering exceptional results.
Key Focus Areas: What you'll get to do!
- Country Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, scale, and coach a high-performing team. Focus on hiring, onboarding, and continuous professional development to foster a strong team ethos and maximize both individual and collective performance across the Austrian organization.
- Strategic Market Management: Full ownership of the Austrian market strategy and execution. Consistently overachieve iACV targets by driving accuracy and predictability in forecasting, pipeline oversight, and long-term business planning.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Lead virtual teams by driving alignment across Sales Engineering, Business Value Consulting, Product Advisory, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success. Leverage channel and technology partners to maximize market effectiveness, scale, and solution delivery.
- Sales Methodology & Negotiation: Expert application of MEDDPICC, Value-Based Selling, and Pain Chains. Actively lead complex deal negotiations and mentor the team to sell on value, expand deal sizes, and maximize business impact for our customers.
- Operational Excellence & KPI Management: Monitor and analyze regional KPIs to continuously improve sales performance. Develop and implement effective sales processes and best practices to ensure regional efficiency and scalability.
- Corporate Citizenship & Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary liaison for the Austrian market, serving as a key voice for the region to internal departments (Product Management, Marketing, Global Sales). Provide timely, insightful input to drive corporate initiatives and ensure a transparent, two-way flow of communication.
- Extensive experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams, with the ability and desire to grow and scale operations.
- Significant experience in direct and channel selling to Enterprise and Strategic Accounts.
- Existing and reliable relationships within the Austrian market that help drive growth and demonstrate an ability to expand that professional network.
- Proven experience in engaging with C-level executives and senior management in large-scale organizations.
- Track record of closing six and seven-figure TCV software licensing deals.
- Deep understanding and expertise in pipeline generation and management within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong executive presence, professional bearing, and polish.
- Ability to maintain an accurate sales forecast, deliver on commitments, and drive new business growth.
- Exceptional management, interpersonal, written, and presentation skills; an all-around exceptional communicator.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Proven ability to lead a country organization effectively, maintaining strong team cohesion and close contact with senior leadership.
- Relevant software industry experience in IT systems, enterprise, or infrastructure management.
- Ability to effectively use CRM systems (Salesforce).
- Strong communication skills, fluent in German and English.
