Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Role
As a Nurse Assistant on our dynamic H5 Cardiac Telemetry Unit—a 32-bed specialized cardiac care environment—you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Working collaboratively with our Registered Nurses, you will:
- Deliver Compassionate Patient Care: Provide direct patient care support to meet the safety, comfort, and dignity needs of our diverse cardiac patient population, including those preparing for or recovering from cardiac interventions, LVAD support, and heart transplant procedures
- Support Clinical Excellence: Collaborate with the nursing team to assist in planning and implementing individualized patient care, contributing your observations and insights to enhance patient outcomes
- Respond with Confidence: Recognize and respond promptly to patient emergencies, alarms, and changing conditions, communicating critical information to the appropriate healthcare team members
- Champion Patient Safety: Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment while adhering to all safety protocols and infection control standards
- Embrace Continuous Learning: Actively participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge and skills

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- CNA preferred.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.)
- OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course. OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan Rn license. OR Medical Assistant program with OR without experience.
- OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation
