Role Overview

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to work with the Director of Product and help set the strategic direction for our Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) product line. This is a senior, high-impact individual contributor role: you will own the planning and execution for CLM, help shape company-level bets on where crypto-agility and CLM automation are headed, and act as the most senior product voice across a portfolio of related modules and initiatives.

You will operate with significant autonomy, partnering directly with engineering leadership, design, sales, and executive stakeholders to translate market and regulatory shifts into a coherent, differentiated roadmap. You will also raise the bar for the broader product organization, mentoring senior and mid-level PMs, setting standards for discovery and requirements gathering, and representing AppViewX’s CLM strategy with customers, and industry forums.

You bring deep product instincts, sharp executive and customer communication, and strong technical fluency in PKI and certificate management. You are comfortable operating ambiguously at the strategy layer while still being able to go deep into requirements, architecture trade-offs, and cross-functional execution when it matters most.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the roadmap for Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM), aligning it with company strategy, market opportunity, competitive dynamics, and enterprise customer needs.
• Act as the senior product strategist for CLM, setting priorities across multiple modules and workstreams and ensuring coherence across the broader product portfolio.
• Lead deep discovery engagements with enterprise customers, PKI architects, and customer stakeholders to surface strategic pain points around certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, discovery, and visibility.
• Translate complex regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, eIDAS, FIPS 140-2) into a coherent, forward-looking set of product capabilities and standards.
• Define AppViewX’s point of view and product response to major industry shifts, including post-quantum cryptography (PQC), short-lived certificates (47-day validity), and Zero Trust models, working closely with engineering and architecture teams.
• Set the bar for product requirements quality across the team, writing and reviewing PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the most complex, ambiguous, or cross-cutting initiatives.
• Mentor and coach senior and mid-level PMs, contributing to hiring, onboarding, and the overall maturity of product practices, documentation, and process across the organization.
• Collaborate closely with Design on the end-to-end experience for certificate discovery, enrollment, renewal automation, and policy enforcement, ensuring consistency across a growing product portfolio.
• Represent AppViewX’s CLM product strategy and roadmap externally with key customers, prospects, and at conferences or forums as needed.
• Influence without direct authority across engineering, design, marketing, sales, and technical field teams aligning diverse stakeholders from individual contributors to the C-suite around a shared strategic direction.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of product management experience, including at least 4+ years operating at a senior/lead or principal level owning strategy for a B2B SaaS or enterprise software product.
• Demonstrated track record of owning product strategy end-to-end, from market analysis and vision-setting through execution, launch, and iteration at scale.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills; experienced with product analytics, cohort analysis, A/B testing, and using data to inform multi-quarter strategic bets.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to influence senior executives and align cross-functional stakeholders spanning engineering, design, technical sales, and leadership.
• Significant experience working with enterprise customers in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government, telecoms), including direct engagement with security and compliance stakeholders.
• Proven experience managing complex, API-first products and platform-level integrations.
• Experience mentoring or leading other product managers, or otherwise operating as a force multiplier for a product organization.

Domain Expertise (Preferred):

Direct CLM or PKI leadership experience is strongly preferred. Candidates who can demonstrate the following will have a significant advantage:

• Deep, strategic understanding of a CLM or PKI management platform, including X.509 certificate standards, certificate authorities (public and private), trust chains, and revocation mechanisms (CRL, OCSP).
• Familiarity with certificate enrollment protocols: ACME, SCEP, EST, and REST-based CA APIs, and how they shape automation and integration strategy.
• Experience setting strategy for automation workflows, and working knowledge of HSM (Hardware Security Module), key management, and cryptographic policy enforcement at an enterprise scale.
