National Interstate is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team. This individual will either work hybrid from the Richfield, OH office 2 days per week or work fully remote from the USA ,if not local to the office
National Interstate’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site a minimum of two days a week, with the potential to work three days remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday and Wednesday but will be determined by business needs.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Leads and executes the QA strategy for projects, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
- Analyzes features and user stories to validate acceptance criteria, testability, and impact of proposed changes.
- Provides accurate estimates for QA activities including test design, automation, execution, and defect resolution.
- Designs, implements, and maintains automated test scripts with a focus on the test automation pyramid and lower-level system testing.
- Ensures thorough product testing prior to release, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Conducts peer reviews of test plans, cases, and automation code.
- Identifies, documents, and tracks defects through resolution, including root cause analysis.
- Maintains and executes regression test suites to ensure ongoing product stability.
- Recommends and implements improvements to QA processes and tools.
- May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Prefer Experience With
- API testing ( Postman/SoapUI)
- Test Automation
- Programming languages ( C#, Phython, etc)
- CI/CD and DevOps ( Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
- Version Control ( Git, Github, Azure Repos)
- Database testing – SQL Server, Snowflake
- AI assisted testing ( test data design and AI generated test cases)
- Playwright experience
- Strong automation skills ( test automation framework, API testing , SQL , CI/CD pipeline, Source control, Coding and Scripting) and Automation first mindset.
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Plans and leads testing efforts for moderately complex projects, coordinating across teams. Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright). Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and modern SDLC practices. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, TestRail, Git, Docker, Postman, and SQL. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and business relationship skills. Requires a high level of understanding of organization's business and technology operations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze data to drive decision-making. Viewed as a senior resource on the team. Provides technical advice and support to lower-level positions.
