- Play a key role in managing the Store Payroll spend at SportChek and Mark’s
- Identify areas or opportunities within the business for operational efficiencies and/or revenue growth, analyzing and implementing changes that will influence store operations strategy and drive improved profitability.
- Lead compensation plan model design target setting to drive performance of strategic metrics and meet financial targets.
- Lead and participate in planning meetings to support ongoing business initiatives.
- Collaborate with many teams to unlock new analytics that drive common objectives.
- Be an Automation Champion – develop self-serve analytics to drive value generating activities in our 550+ stores across Mark’s and SportChek
- Oversee analytical processes leveraging store financial data including income statement data.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a business, analytics, or finance role
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) and/or master’s degree in MMA, MBA, or analytics is considered an asset.
- Ability to clearly and confidently, communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, driving key business results under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment.
- Working Knowledge or interest in BI tools such as PowerBI, and/or Tableau is an asset.
- Knowledge of database management, information management, and data mart design along with hands-on experience using data analysis / workflow tools such as Knime or Alteryx is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL or other coding languages and experience with Azure Synapse and/or Databricks.
- Prior experience in machine learning or predictive analytics would be an asset.
