About The Role

Join the Insurance Business Development team, in the Account Manager, Client Relations position, supporting the growth of our Homeowner Mortgage Loan Insurance portfolio. In this role, you will drive business growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external clients, as well as industry stakeholders. You will identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships with CMHC. You will manage the full client engagement cycle, from prospecting and onboarding to ongoing relationship management, while actively promoting CMHC’s mortgage loan insurance products. You will identify risks, opportunities and provide advice and information transfer to clients including training on products, policies and tools to help strengthen their business

Travel is required for this role and will vary based on lender needs, particularly within Alberta.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and collaborate with management to develop and implement regional strategies for homeowner lending clients. 
  • Work closely with Client Relations team and management to ensure a seamless and consistent client experience. 
  • Design and implement tactical plans based on client needs and volumes, maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers. 
  • Deliver targeted presentations and training to improve product knowledge and enhance application quality. 
  • Lead strategic discussions with senior clients to identify and implement opportunities and align with CMHC’s business objectives. 
  • Monitor and report on industry trends, client strategies, and operational shifts to inform CMHC’s direction. 
  • Represent CMHC at industry events and forums to strengthen relationships and promote our multi-unit offerings.

What You Should Have

  • A university degree in finance, business administration, or marketing. 
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the mortgage industry. An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered.
  • An expertise in loan origination, insurance, and mortgage underwriting. 
  • Strong skills in financial analysis and credit assessment. 
  • Proficient in sales techniques and customer relationship management (CRM). 
  • Advanced proficiency with presentation tools and computer systems. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic relationship-building abilities.
  • Experienced in training, group facilitation, and delivering professional presentations.

  • A broad knowledge of CMHC's business, mandate and objectives.
