Job Purpose
- The Country CAPEX Lead supports the Country Portfolio Senior Manager in coordinating the country CAPEX portfolio across Cement, RMX, and Geocycle businesses. The role is responsible for consolidating CAPEX requirements, preparing business case documentation, coordinating portfolio reporting, maintaining portfolio data in ERP/OnePPM, and ensuring compliance with Group investment processes and portfolio governance standards.
- The role serves as the day-to-day coordination focal point between plants, Finance, Procurement, and project teams, ensuring timely collection of portfolio information, accurate reporting, effective communication, and consistent application of CAPEX governance processes.
- The position provides technical and analytical support to the Country Portfolio Senior Manager while developing broad exposure to CAPEX portfolio management, investment governance, and strategic planning, supporting long-term succession within the function.
- Consolidate CAPEX requirements across business entities, perform completeness and quality reviews of investment proposals, and prepare inputs for the annual CAPEX envelope, forecasts, and cash-out plans.
- Prepare draft business cases, opportunity assessments, feasibility studies, ROI analyses, and supporting investment documentation for review and validation by the Country Portfolio Senior Manager.
- Maintain the country CAPEX portfolio database and portfolio structure within ERP/OnePPM, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, timely updates, and compliance with Group standards.
- Maintain and regularly update portfolio status throughout the investment lifecycle and prepare consolidated portfolio updates for management review.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day support to project managers on CAPEX governance, reporting requirements and investment procedures.
- Coordinate the collection, consolidation and quality review of CAPEX proposals submitted by business units during PDP and MTP cycles.
- Support portfolio planning by preparing draft investment justifications, feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and financial evaluations.
- Support the development of sustaining CAPEX allocation proposals and alignment with long-term maintenance and asset replacement strategies.
- Develop, consolidate, and issue monthly CAPEX dashboards, forecasts, and management reports (MBR, EMR, CIP, SAP-FC), ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timely submission.
- Perform portfolio performance analyses, identifying trends, risks, deviations, and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions for management review.
- Prepare and maintain monthly rolling forecasts and cash-out plans, ensuring alignment with actual performance and financial targets.
- Coordinate with country entities, Finance, Procurement, and project teams to support CAPEX governance activities, ensuring timely data collection, compliance with processes, and effective communication across stakeholders.
- Support communications and information exchange with Regional (AMEA PM&E, CAPEX Portfolio) and Group stakeholders (Engineering, Procurement, R&D), ensuring timely submission of investment documentation and portfolio reports.
- Engage with external consultants, suppliers, and contractors for technical and financial data collection during project preparation.
- Coordinate CAPEX system activities by preparing project creation requests, budget assignments, access requests, and system updates, ensuring compliance with Group procedures under the governance of the Country Portfolio Senior Manager.
- Maintain structured project documentation, filing, archiving, and portfolio records, ensuring traceability and compliance with corporate requirements.
- Support project teams by promoting consistent application of CAPEX governance processes, reporting standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAPEX governance processes, portfolio management practices, and reporting methodologies through knowledge sharing and lessons learned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil).
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, PMRG, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Good understanding of finance, cost management, and investment evaluation principles.
- Solid knowledge of CAPEX planning, project portfolio coordination, and investment governance processes.
- Experience in business case preparation, feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and project financial evaluation.
- Good understanding of project planning, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Proficient in SAP, OnePPM, Microsoft Office, and other portfolio management tools.
- Good understanding of cement manufacturing processes or other capital-intensive industrial environments.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in cement manufacturing, industrial, or other capital-intensive industries.
- 3–5 years of experience in CAPEX management, project engineering, project controls, portfolio coordination, or investment planning.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple CAPEX projects simultaneously.
- Experience preparing management reports, dashboards, forecasts, and investment documentation is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to governance and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated initiative, learning agility, and potential to grow into broader portfolio management responsibilities.
