Area Product Owner / Product Manager – Agentic AI Platform (m/f/d)

Location: Remote within Germany / HQ in Münster

Our client is an established German software and AI company with around 150 employees and strong academic roots. Founded by a university professor (in 2012), the company operates behind the scenes of digital products across the German Sparkassen ecosystem and is involved in KIPilot, helping introduce secure and practical AI solutions into one of Germany’s largest financial networks.

At the centre of its AI strategy is DialogBits, an agentic AI platform designed to help organisations build intelligent assistants and automate complex processes.

The Product Hub is divided into three value streams:

• Banking and the Sparkassen/Finanz Informatik ecosystem
• The core DialogBits platform
• Individual enterprise customers

As an Area Product Owner, you’ll take full ownership of one of these streams—its direction, priorities, backlog and value.

What you’ll own

• Define and develop the vision for your value stream
• Take responsibility for maximising its customer and business value
• Create, maintain and prioritise the Area Product Backlog
• Translate the wider AI and product strategy into clear problems and priorities
• Challenge customer requests that don’t support the long-term platform direction
• Work closely with customers, stakeholders, engineering teams and the overall Product Owner
• Give developers a clear understanding of the problem, context and desired outcome—not simply a list of tickets
• Shape Overall Product Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning and other LeSS Huge events
• Balance immediate customer requirements with scalability, standardisation and technical viability
• Continuously refine, maintain and develop the product beyond individual projects

What you’ll bring

• Several years of proven Product Owner or product management experience in agile software development
• Experience owning a genuine product—not only delivering fixed-term customer projects
• Strong stakeholder management and the confidence to make difficult product decisions
• Experience prioritising backlogs based on outcomes, value and strategic direction
• Good technical understanding of software platforms, system architecture and distributed systems
• Familiarity with AI, LLMs, NLP or conversational AI
• A strong methodological toolkit, including user story mapping, value stream mapping and user-centred requirements analysis
• Ideally, experience working with LeSS, LeSS Huge or another scaled product environment
• Ideally, experience building or scaling SaaS, PaaS or AI products
• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Fluent German and strong English
