Summary

About the Role:

As a Patient Access Representative, you play a critical role in helping patients begin and continue their care journey at Roswell Park. You will serve as a key connection point for patients, caregivers, referring providers, and clinical teams, ensuring that every step of the access process is smooth, timely, and supportive.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, coordinating complex details, and creating a positive experience during what can be a challenging and emotional time for patients and families.

The starting annual salary for this position is $42,641 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

Guide patients through the process of accessing care at Roswell Park

Coordinate new and returning patient appointments, diagnostic testing, and hospital admissions

Gather and review information needed to support patient intake and care planning

Collaborate with referring providers and internal clinical teams to ensure timely coordination of care

Facilitate communication between patients, caregivers, and disease-site teams throughout the scheduling and access process

Help patients navigate insurance requirements and obtain financial clearance for services

Ensure all necessary records, documentation, and information are collected and accurately maintained

Support a seamless patient experience by proactively identifying and resolving barriers to care

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in patient registration, patient scheduling, or insurance verification; or
  • High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).

Note

Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
