Tesla is looking for an individual experienced with calibration programs and technical quality processes to contribute to the team at Gigafactory New York. As a Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for performing and supporting the daily operation of the calibration program for Tesla’s Gigafactory in Buffalo, New York. In this role, you will work within the Equipment Engineering organization providing support to the Production and Quality teams.
What You'll Do
Execute the calibration program for a 24x7 manufacturing environment and associated practices for all inspection, test, and measuring equipmentConduct calibration, repair, diagnostics, and modification of industrial process control instrumentation for Gigafactory New York manufacturing lines while managing technical documentation and operational proceduresReview calibration test results and certificates for accuracyTrain equipment owners in use of the calibration programCommunicate status of all calibrated equipment to owners including TPM activity for on-site tooling, total cost of ownership tracking, and alerts for repeat tool failuresTrack tools requiring external vendor repair or calibration by scheduling on-site and off-site work, establishing vendor relationships, maintaining certification documentation, and resolving issuesSupport the company’s mission, vision, values, and goals in daily activitiesWhat You'll Bring2+ years of experience in relevant calibration laboratories or quality operations positions within torque, electrical, and testing equipmentKnowledge and working experience of ISO 17025Understanding and application of Control PlansAbility to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsProven strong technical quality support and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated ability to organize and prioritize in a highly dynamic production environmentExcellent communication skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and command of written and verbal EnglishBenefits
