Position Summary

Citrus Cardiology Consultants, PLLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician's Assistant (PA) to join our cardiology team, providing inpatient care alongside our providers across local hospitals in Citrus County. This role offers a collaborative environment working alongside board-certified cardiologists, with a focus on delivering high-quality cardiovascular care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inpatient rounding on cardiology patients across affiliated hospitals
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to guide clinical decision-making
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, EKGs, and imaging studies
  • Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, in accordance with established protocols while ensuring patient safety
  • Participate in patient education, care coordination, and discharge planning
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks) to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate, timely documentation for clinical, legal, and billing purposes

Requirements

  • Active APRN license in the state of Florida
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum of 3 years of cardiology-related clinical experience (Clinical experience may include cardiac unit, cardiac ICU, Cath Lab, or similar settings)
  • Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with inpatient cardiology rounding
  • Familiarity with cardiovascular procedures and post-procedure care
  • Proficiency with EMR systems
