Production Manager

Our client, a well-established manufacturing business operating a continuous production facility, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead its production operations.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong production leader who enjoys being on the factory floor, driving operational excellence, leading teams, and continuously improving plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all daily production activities across a 24/7 multi-shift operation
• Drive production efficiency, throughput, yield, and quality improvements
• Manage and develop Shift Supervisors and production teams
• Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet operational targets
• Monitor production equipment performance and work closely with Maintenance to minimise downtime
• Analyse production data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, food safety requirements, and company operating procedures
• Oversee production reporting, stock control, and production planning
• Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production risk assessments
• Maintain exceptional housekeeping, hygiene, and safety standards throughout the facility
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Quality departments to optimise production performance
• Lead investigations into production issues and implement corrective actions

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Food Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 7 years' Production Management experience within a manufacturing environment
• At least 3 years' experience managing supervisors in a continuous production environment
• Strong technical understanding of production equipment and manufacturing processes
• Experience with SOP development and risk assessments
• Proven experience driving operational improvements and managing production KPIs

Advantageous Experience

• Rendering, animal processing, or food manufacturing
• Animal feed or pet food production
• FMCG or industrial processing
• SCADA-controlled manufacturing environments
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
• ISO 9001, ISO 22000, or HACCP
