- Lead clinical practice in a specialist acute mental health environment
- Develop and support others through clinical leadership, education and mentoring
- Drive positive change across Mental Health Intensive Care Nursing, Safewards and reducing restrictive interventions
Working alongside the NUM, CNC and ANUMs, you’ll support high-quality, recovery-oriented care while building the capability of the nursing team. This is a clinically focused leadership role, with opportunities to influence practice, education and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise in acute mental health and MHIC nursing
- Support the implementation of Safewards, reducing restrictive interventions and contemporary recovery-oriented practice
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and education to nursing and direct-care staff
- Undertake advanced clinical assessments and direct consumer care to role model best-practice nursing
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits, education and service development
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with 5+ years’ post-registration mental health nursing experience
- Postgraduate qualification in psychiatric/mental health nursing or specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing qualification
- Significant acute psychiatric inpatient experience with strong MHICN and reducing restrictive interventions knowledge
- Sound knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2022 and contemporary recovery-oriented mental health practice
- Strong clinical leadership, communication, mentoring and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
