Head of Finance and Facilities

Purpose

Lead the organisation’s finance and facilities functions and contribute to executive decision-making. The role oversees financial governance, payroll and pensions, procurement, compliance, property, assets and operational services, with a focus on value for money, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the CEO, Board and committees on finance, governance, risk and statutory obligations.
• Lead finance, procurement and facilities teams and deliver agreed plans, budgets and performance targets.
• Oversee budgeting, management reporting, annual accounts, audit and internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with financial, tax, procurement, governance and public-sector requirements.
• Manage payroll, pensions, contracts, property, assets and energy performance.
• Improve systems, policies and processes and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the seniority of the role.

• Level 8 qualification or higher in finance, business, management or a related discipline.
• Recognised professional accounting qualification and membership of an appropriate professional body.
• At least five years’ leadership experience in finance, business support or a related function within a complex organisation.
• Strong strategic planning, financial governance, project delivery and performance reporting capability.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
• Full clean Category B driving licence valid in Ireland.

• Financial management systems, public procurement or property management.
• Working with public bodies, Boards, Audit and Risk Committees, the Comptroller and Auditor General, or the Oireachtas.
