Salary: €70k - €90k

I am working with an exciting client who is seeking an experienced QA Lead to join its Engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead a team of three Quality Engineers while remaining embedded within a product pod as a Quality Engineer. Acting as the bridge between Engineering Management and the QA team, you will drive quality best practices, coach engineers, and ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

This role is heavily focused on shift-left quality practices, test strategy, and leveraging AI-powered development workflows. You will influence quality at the specification stage, guide the use of coding agents and automated testing frameworks, and continuously improve engineering quality through coaching, metrics, and process enhancement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of three Quality Engineers
• Manage goal setting, performance reviews, and day-to-day team leadership
• Act as the primary escalation point for quality-related challenges
• Champion quality during feature specification and planning activities
• Define and improve testing frameworks, guardrails, and quality standards used by AI coding agents
• Review and validate automated tests using techniques such as mutation testing
• Mentor developers and quality engineers on test effectiveness and quality engineering best practices
• Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned into testing standards and processes
• Support exploratory testing, complex end-to-end testing, and challenging quality scenarios when required
• Promote performance, security, accessibility, and reliability testing practices
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional teams to build quality into delivery from the outset

Experience:

• 5+ years' experience in software testing within a commercial environment
• 3+ years acting as a QA Technical Lead or QA Team Lead
• Experience managing and developing high-performing QA teams
• Strong understanding of software architecture and quality pipelines
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows
• Experience working with modern CI/CD platforms and DevOps environments
• Strong background in test automation and quality engineering practices
• Experience with tools such as Java/Python, Cypress, Stryker, Allure, PactumJS or similar
• Knowledge of performance, security, and accessibility testing methodologies

This is a fulltime role offering a salary of up to €90k plus an extensive benefits package. This role offers full remote working providing you are based in Ireland.
