Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Strategic Procurement Specialist to lead both direct and indirect procurement across a diverse portfolio of commodities, services, and manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost, quality, and delivery performance while supporting our Houston operations and global manufacturing network. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required due to frequent collaboration with our global headquarters, suppliers, and vendors across Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and lead procurement activities using SAP ERP (Buyer module) for both direct and indirect categories.
- Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, timely delivery, and long-term supplier performance.
- Analyze and prioritize global requests, avoiding reactive decision-making by applying sound judgment, procurement expertise, and data-driven insights.
- Troubleshoot complex procurement and supply chain issues, proactively identifying root causes and escalating critical matters when appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with operational and business needs.
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and effectively communicate priorities, risks, and recommendations on high-impact tasks and projects.
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new commodities, suppliers, and market conditions while sharing knowledge and best practices across the team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5–8 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience in computer, electronics, or hardware manufacturing.
- Proficiency with SAP ERP (Buyer module).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound business decisions independently.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, leading negotiations, and driving cost, quality, and delivery improvements.
- Ability to work independently while fostering strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Flexible across diverse commodities with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin (speaking, reading, and writing) is required
