Project Engineering partners with Research and Development on new product introductions and product improvements, from concept through launch. The position also plans and executes engineering projects and sustaining initiatives requiring manufacturing and specialized technical expertise, while leading cross-functional teams supporting key plant initiatives.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required. Licentiate degree preferred.
- Medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated industry.
- Intermediate English proficiency (B1), including verbal communication, reading, and technical writing.
- Demonstrated ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to complex manufacturing and process issues, including DMAIC, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, brainstorming, Kaizen, and other applicable tools.
- Previous experience leading projects and supporting cost-reduction and quality-improvement initiatives within production environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional partners.
- Results-oriented, with a demonstrated record of accomplishments.
- Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and priorities.
- Experience with data analysis and project management.
- Knowledge of Minitab, PLM Agile, BPCS, and compliance systems.
- Technical knowledge of molding, RF welding, RF tipping, extrusion, automation, form-fill-seal technologies, and mechanical, electrical, and/or automation design.
- Knowledge of machine learning applications.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and process validation.
- Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks.
- Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity.
- Identifies possible solutions to technical and operational problems.
- Applies judgment within defined parameters to determine appropriate actions.
- Works independently, with general supervision.
- May review or coordinate the work of other employees but does not have formal management responsibilities.
- Demonstrates project-management, planning, organization, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, integrity, creativity, customer focus, and sound decision-making.
