Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cardiac Arrhythmia Tech to join our healthcare team in Jackson, Michigan. In this full-time night shift position, you will play a critical role in monitoring and analyzing cardiac telemetry data for our patients. Your expertise in arrhythmia recognition and efficient patient monitoring will directly contribute to patient safety and quality care delivery. This role requires a professional who can work independently during night hours while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and seamless communication with the clinical team.
- Monitor and analyze cardiac telemetry data for multiple patients simultaneously, identifying and reporting arrhythmias and abnormal rhythms in a timely manner
- Recognize and interpret various cardiac rhythms, including normal sinus rhythm, atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and other clinically significant arrhythmias
- Maintain accurate and organized patient monitoring records, documenting all significant cardiac events and rhythm changes
- Respond promptly to patient alarms and alerts, assessing situations and communicating findings to nursing and physician staff
- Operate and troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning properly and patients are connected appropriately
- Collaborate with the clinical team to support patient care decisions and interventions based on telemetry findings
- Adhere to all hospital protocols, policies, and patient safety standards during night shift operations
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any technical issues to appropriate departments
- Proven experience in cardiac telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
- Strong knowledge of EKG/ECG interpretation and cardiac rhythms
- Proficiency in operating telemetry monitoring systems and related equipment
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify subtle changes in patient status
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently and independently during night shift hours
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration
- Proficiency with hospital computer systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Understanding of medical terminology and patient safety protocols
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Preferred: Certified Cardiac Monitor Technician (CCMT) or equivalent certification
- Preferred: Experience in acute care or intensive care unit (ICU) settings
