BakerHostetler is seeking an associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its premier, globally recognized Digital Assets and Data Management ("DADM") Group. As a member of the Digital Risk Advisory and Cybersecurity Team, the successful candidate will advise national and multinational clients on: (1) cybersecurity incidents and post-incident regulatory investigations; and (2) advisory work (incident response tabletops, cybersecurity program building, risk assessments, etc.). This market-leading practice handles some of the most significant cybersecurity matters and offers associates meaningful client interaction, substantial responsibility, and exceptional opportunities for professional growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications Include

  • Experience guiding clients through the response to a cybersecurity incident and subsequent developments (regulatory inquiries and litigation).
  • Experience advising clients on privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and risk management issues.
  • Familiarity with state, national, and international privacy and cybersecurity laws (e.g., state breach notice laws, CCPA, GDPR, GLBA) is a plus.
  • A strong academic record and a J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Am Law 100 experience preferred.
  • Candidates with three or more years of commercial litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in cybersecurity will also be considered.
  • Admission, or eligibility for admission through waiver, in the state where the candidate will reside and practice.

This position may be located in any of the following offices: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Orange County, CA; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; or Washington, DC.

The salary offered in any location will be determined by a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, geographic region, and relevant skills. Associates also participate in a performance- and hours-based bonus program. BakerHostetler offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits program, including group health, dental and vision insurance, paid holidays (10 days), paid time off, 401(k) plan, parental leave (10 weeks, not including disability, where applicable), family care program, wellness program, life and accident insurance, and short and long-term disability.

For Denver, the expected annual salary range for this position is $240,000 - $290,000.

For Chicago, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., the expected annual salary range for this position is $245,000 - $345,000.
