Media Relations Associate - U.S. Wealth Management

As a Media Relations Associate, you’ll join the press office and support the J.P. Morgan Wealth Management Communications team. The team serves as a liaison to the media, protects the firm’s reputation and partners with senior executives to shape their voice and visibility. You will work across the firm to ensure external information is timely, accurate and aligned with approvals and controls. You will also create media materials, help plan events, identify opportunities and manage tracking and reporting.

This role plays a critical part in our communications strategy. The team translates complex financial and regulatory topics into clear, relevant messaging for broad audiences. Communications professionals on this team advise senior leaders and help drive proactive and reactive media engagement.

Job responsibilities

Media monitoring and reporting

  • Identify relevant media opportunities, reporter activity and industry trends
  • Monitor media coverage in real time and deliver clear coverage reports and insights
  • Maintain media trackers, coverage logs and reporter lists

Content development and executive support

  • Create thorough media briefings and briefing books for announcements, interviews and events
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, reactive statements and talking points
  • Support message development by conducting research and competitive analysis

Visibility and engagement

  • Manage awards and rankings submissions end to end, including timelines, drafting, edits and approvals
  • Identify and secure external speaking opportunities for executives and coordinate logistics and materials
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters and media partners

Controls and coordination

  • Partner with Control teams, including Legal, Compliance and Risk, to follow established processes and support appropriate reviews and approvals
  • Coordinate across stakeholders to align timing, facts and messaging before external outreach

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Minimum 3 years of media relations experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a track record of collaborating across teams
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in financial services communications or a strong interest in wealth management and personal finance
  • Experience managing awards and rankings programs, media monitoring and executive speaking opportunities
