Overview
The IT Systems & Network technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's server, network, cloud, and end-user computing environments while also helping support day-to-day operational IT needs. This position serves as a technical escalation point and plays a key role in ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Configure and maintain switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and network security.
- Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and endpoint management solutions.
- Support virtualization platforms, backups, disaster recovery, and infrastructure projects.
- Troubleshoot complex servers, network, and application issues.
- Maintain IT documentation and security best practices.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support when necessary.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of systems administration and networking experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering is preferred.
- 5 years of experience desired
- Need to understand basic networking/ethernet, Office365, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012 R2, and VPNs
- Knowledge of and prior experience working with Microsoft products including but not limited to current operating systems, software, and applications.
- Preferred Certifications: Network+, Security+, CCNA, Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent certifications.
