German Speaking Network & IT Administrator in Salem!

Location: Lake Constance region, Germany (Hybrid – 4 days on-site / 1 day remote)

We are an established, founder-led software engineering house designing advanced digital mapping and spatial intelligence platforms. Our specialized technology drives high-stakes operations across global defense, intelligence monitoring, and environmental protection sectors.

We are looking for an autonomous German-Speaking Network & Systems Specialist to lead our core IT infrastructure, maintain server reliability, and safeguard our overall technical environment.

What You Will Do

• Infrastructure Ownership: Maintain, monitor, and scale our organization-wide technical operations, ensuring robust systems architecture and minimal downtime.
• Network & Defense: Configure and manage internal networks (LAN/WAN), encrypted VPN connections, and firewalls to uphold enterprise-grade security standards.
• Linux Environment: Direct our Linux server ecosystem, overseeing credential management, access controls, and administrative policies.
• Deployment & Resilience: Lead new hardware setups, software updates, patch deployment, and automated backup strategies (including proprietary applications).
• Internal Services & Equipment: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal tech issues, deliver systematic troubleshooting, and manage hardware provisioning for incoming team members.
• Field Deployments: Assist with specialized hardware configuration for client integrations, including occasional on-site support visits (1–2 times annually).

• Background: Technical degree, vocational credential, or practical experience backed by 3+ years in Linux server and network engineering.
• Core Competencies: Command of Linux operating systems, deep understanding of networking protocols, security certificates, and data encryption.
• Analytical Skills: Calm, methodical approach to system diagnostics and an appetite for end-to-end technical responsibility.
• Languages & Clearance: Full fluency in German (C2) alongside strong professional English (B2+). Must hold EU or NATO citizenship to satisfy strict security clearance requirements.
• Workplace Presence: Located within a 45–60 minute commute of our regional office or prepared to move locally (requires on-site presence with up to 1 remote day per week).
