Our key investments are in Endpoint Security along with Network, Email, and Identity Security, where we design and implement consistent, scalable services for Salesforce Enterprise, integrating our IT network, public cloud infrastructure, and our own data centers. In this role, you empower every Salesforce employee, device, and application to operate securely across these environments. You lead the technical vision, architectural integration, and risk-reduction strategy for the Enterprise Defense Pillar, protecting hosts, networks, applications, email channels, and cloud and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environments from advanced cyber threats.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Lead the architectural design for core Enterprise Defense capabilities, including endpoint and workload protection, such as Enterprise Endpoint Security, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR), and Application Control
- Own vulnerability and exposure management, including vulnerability scanning and Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM)
- Design cloud and SaaS posture strategy, including Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM)
- Architect messaging and gateway defense, including email security tools such as Secure Email Gateways (SEG) and Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC), DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), and Sender Policy Framework (SPF)
- Lead network and perimeter defense, including Security Service Edge, traffic inspection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Enterprise Secure Browser technology
- Design deception and active defense capabilities, including cyber deception technology, decoys and honeypots, lures, breadcrumbs, and canary tokens
- Define and maintain the enterprise defense reference architecture and integration patterns that may span multiple technology platforms or cloud substrates
- Establish technical standards and deployment blueprints across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments
- Align endpoint security strategy with business, security, and regulatory goals
- Partner with product management and engineering leads to drive technical roadmaps and platform modernization
- Design automated workflows that connect vulnerability discoveries, threat intelligence, and remediation prioritization frameworks with stakeholders
- Ensure seamless telemetry integration from all Enterprise Defense tools into the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), and Security Operations Center (SOC) detection pipelines
- Lead threat modeling and architecture assessments of endpoint components and dependencies
- Proactively evaluate emerging defensive technologies to reduce risk at the endpoint and perimeter
- Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) evaluations, Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, and architectural reviews for mergers and acquisitions in the Enterprise Defense domain
- Work alongside Scrum engineering teams on active projects
- You have 15 or more years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering, network security, and infrastructure defense
- You have 8 or more years in an enterprise security architect role overseeing multi-domain defense stacks
- You have expertise architecting Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms (for example, CrowdStrike Falcon) and Application Control solutions
- You have a deep understanding of Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools (for example, Wiz, Prisma Cloud) and SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) tools (for example, CrowdStrike or equivalent)
- You are proficient with vulnerability platforms (for example, Tenable, Qualys, or equivalent) and Application Programming Interface (API)-integrated email security tools (for example, Abnormal, Proofpoint)
- You have in-depth knowledge of Secure Web Gateways (SWG), Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) decryption at scale, and secure browsers
- You have hands-on experience designing deception environments, including honeypots, bait credentials, canary tokens, and Active Directory deception
