Provisions Group is a leading IT consulting and staffing firm built around a People First philosophy. Our technology teams help organizations solve business and technology challenges across cloud, infrastructure, security, data, application development, and strategic advisory.

We are growing our Cloud practice and looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to help shape solutions, advise clients, support presales, and provide technical leadership through delivery.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Cloud Architect will serve as a senior technical leader within our Cloud practice, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure.

This role combines cloud architecture, consulting, presales, and delivery leadership. You will work with clients and internal teams to assess environments, define cloud strategies, design solutions, develop roadmaps, and guide projects from discovery through implementation.

We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable discussing strategy with executives, leading technical discovery, designing Azure solutions, developing estimates and SOWs, and guiding engineers during delivery.

MUST-HAVES

1. Deep Microsoft Azure Expertise

Strong hands-on experience designing and working within Microsoft Azure production environments.

2. Cloud Architecture & Strategy

Experience designing secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective architectures and translating business requirements into practical cloud strategies and roadmaps.

3. Presales & Client Consulting

Ability to lead discovery sessions, develop solutions, scope projects, create estimates, present recommendations, and contribute to proposals and Statements of Work.

4. Communication & Technical Leadership

Strong executive and technical communication skills with experience providing architectural oversight throughout project delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design Azure architectures aligned with client objectives, security requirements, budget, and long-term strategy.
• Assess existing environments and develop cloud migration, modernization, and optimization roadmaps.
• Design Azure networking, identity, security, governance, compute, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Apply Microsoft best practices, including Azure landing zones, governance, and Well-Architected principles.
• Lead technical discovery and translate client requirements into architectures, diagrams, recommendations, and project approaches.
• Partner with sales and delivery teams on project sizing, estimates, SOWs, presentations, and technical risk.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to SMB and mid-market clients on cloud strategy, security, resiliency, performance, and cost.
• Provide architectural oversight during implementation and migration projects.
• Guide engineers through complex technical decisions and help establish reusable standards and best practices.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Professional services, consulting, or managed services experience.
• Experience working with SMB and mid-market clients.
• AWS experience in addition to strong Azure expertise.
• Microsoft 365 and broader Microsoft cloud experience.
• Healthcare, HIPAA, or compliance-driven architecture experience.
• DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Azure DevOps, or GitHub.
• Cloud cost optimization and FinOps experience.

CERTIFICATIONS

Relevant certifications preferred, including:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert

Additional Microsoft, AWS, security, networking, or cloud architecture certifications are beneficial.

The ideal candidate is consultative, technically credible, comfortable presenting to executives, and able to work across sales, engineering, and delivery teams to design practical, secure, scalable, and supportable cloud solutions that solve real business problems.
