All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but may be asked to come into the office periodically. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Position Summary

The Division of Enterprise Technology (DET) delivers statewide IT services that help Wisconsin agencies, local governments, and partners work efficiently and securely. Our mission is to ensure technology supports the state’s business needs through reliable, innovative, and cost-effective solutions.

Under limited supervision, this position serves as a lead technologist and subject matter expert for enterprise middleware and business support platforms with a focus on Microsoft Power Platform, IIS web hosting, and related enterprise infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, supporting, and optimizing these platform services that underpin statewide business applications, ensuring they are secure, stable, and efficient.

The role combines technical leadership with collaboration—balancing hands-on system support with advisory responsibilities. You will partner with agencies, developers, and IT peers across the enterprise to deliver outstanding service, solve complex problems, and guide modernization initiatives.

Success in this position requires excellent communication, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to customer service. You will work as part of a dynamic team supporting critical state systems.

Salary Information

Starting salary for the IS Enterprise Technical Services Consultant/Administrator (07-32) will be between $41.03 - $57.00 per hour. Salary will be determined by applicant qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.

All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. Interviews may be conducted onsite in Madison, WI. Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit.

Participation in an on-call rotation is a requirement of the position. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have the following:

  • Experience monitoring Power Platform performance, licensing, and capacity.
  • Experience managing Power Platform tenant and environments.
  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, documenting, and implementing solutions in complex enterprise environment.

Well-qualified Applicants Will Also Have

  • Experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Experience leading projects from genesis to implementation.
