Cyber Security Consultant

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Incident Management team and establish yourself as an expert!

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Cyber Incident Response Consultant to join our global cyber security team. In this mid-level role where you’d be accountable to both clients and internal stakeholders. You will play a critical part responding to our client’s needs in detecting, analysing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents. You’ll work closely with security consultants, incident commanders and leadership stakeholders both internal and client-side to contain threats, understand and minimise impact, and carry out forensic analysis.

This role will require you to be on-site at our Belfast or Dublin office. There may be a need for frequent travel between our offices, client sites, and the possibility of international travel as required by the business. You must have the right to live and work in the UK or Ireland to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the investigation and response to cybersecurity incidents across retained and non-retained client environments.
• Analyse security events, logs, network traffic, and endpoint activity to identify threats, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Manage incident containment, eradication, and recovery activities to minimise business impact and restore operations effectively.
• Conduct forensic investigations, including memory, disk, and log analysis, to determine the source, scope, and impact of security incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis and support post-incident reviews, providing recommendations to improve security posture.
• Collaborate with client security teams, managed service providers (MSPs), communications teams, and internal stakeholders throughout the incident lifecycle.
• Produce clear and accurate incident documentation, timelines, technical reports, and compliance-related deliverables.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of incident response playbooks, detection capabilities, and security monitoring processes.
• Leverage threat intelligence to strengthen detection, investigation, and response activities.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 2 years in Incident Response, Digital Forensics, or Security Operations Centre (SOC) environments.
• Hands-on experience investigating and responding to cyber security incidents across enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of security technologies, including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and security monitoring tools.
• Experience conducting forensic investigations using memory analysis, disk forensics, network forensics, and log analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, threat actor behaviours, and common attack vectors.
• Solid understanding of network protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems, and cloud security concepts.
• Experience working across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based environments.
• Ability to manage multiple incidents simultaneously and perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant industry certifications such as GCIH, GCFA, CEH, or OSCP are desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
