IT Security Team Lead

Strategic Staffing Solutions customer is looking for an experienced Information Security Team Lead to join its Information Security function. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining security expertise, collaboration, and team guidance.

You will play a key role in safeguarding companies systems and information assets against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. Day to day, you will review new technologies and deployments, provide security and architectural guidance to engineering teams, and ensure solutions align with established security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

The role works closely with Security Engineering, Operations, Governance, Compliance, and other technology teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead security reviews of new systems, technologies, deployments, and solutions, identifying risks and recommending appropriate security controls.
• Provide technical security and architectural guidance to engineering and technology teams throughout the design and implementation process.
• Ensure new and existing solutions comply with security policies, procedures, and secure configuration standards.
• Review third-party and vendor technologies from an information security perspective.
• Maintain and oversee IT security policies and standards, ensuring they remain current and aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor compliance with security policies and procedures, identify gaps or risks, and drive appropriate remediation.
• Partner with Governance and Compliance teams to align security practices with relevant frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation of systems and controls that protect information assets and strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
• Contribute to security awareness initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a strong security culture.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring within the security team.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years of experience within Information Security, Security Engineering, Security Architecture, or a similar technical security function.
• Demonstrated experience conducting security reviews of systems, applications, infrastructure, or new technology deployments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security principles, controls, policies, and secure architecture.
• Familiarity with security and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27000 series / ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-171, GDPR, and related standards.
• Experience working collaboratively with Engineering, IT Operations, Governance, Compliance, and other technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate security requirements into practical technical guidance.
• Previous leadership, mentoring, or team coordination experience is highly valued.
• Bachelor's or university degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
