Role Overview

This role is needed to provide dedicated capability to identify, analyze, and contextualize cyber threats across complex IT environments. It converts security data and threat patterns into actionable intelligence, enabling the SOC and IT teams to detect, prioritize, and respond to emerging threats more effectively. By working closely with the SOC-MSP, the role enhances threat awareness, shortens response time, and strengthens protection of critical operational systems.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collect, analyse, and validate threat intelligence from internal monitoring systems, SOC-MSP feeds, industry sources, and intelligence-sharing communities relevant to IT environments. Track threat actors, malware, exploits, and vulnerabilities to assess operational risk.
  • Identify emerging threat patterns, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) by correlating alerts, logs, incidents, and external intelligence across IT systems.
  • Produce timely and actionable threat intelligence reports, advisories, and alerts to help SOC operations, IT teams, and operational stakeholder's priorities and respond to threats effectively.
  • Coordinate with the SOC-MSP to validate intelligence, improve detection use cases, refine SIEM rules, and ensure threat intelligence is operationalized effectively. Develop tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence outputs as required.
  • Assess threat relevance and potential impact by applying contextual understanding of IT architectures, critical assets, and operational dependencies. Work closely with engineers and plant/site teams to translate cyber threats into operational impact and participate in tabletop exercises and incident simulations.
  • Provide intelligence support during security incidents by analysing adversary behaviour, determining scope and intent, and recommending containment and mitigation actions.
  • Support proactive threat hunting by developing hypotheses, indicators, and use cases based on current and emerging threat intelligence.
  • Communicate threat trends, risks, and intelligence insights to technical teams and management through clear reports and briefings, while maintaining dashboards, threat profiles, and intelligence repositories.
  • Continuously identify intelligence gaps, improve collection sources, and refine analytical methods to strengthen the organisation’s threat intelligence maturity.
