Position Overview

Our Systems Engineers support end-to-end solutions, systems, and products for our customers. The team investigates and resolves product and solution problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. Candidates load software, configure, integrate, verify, and troubleshoot solutions in a lab environment or customer site using Oceus Network’s products, 3rd party products, and/or customized packages.



Candidate hiring tier (Staff, Senior, Lead) will be determined during the interview process based on total years of experience, technical capability, and leadership scope.

Universal Position Requirements



  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Current secret security clearance (or ability to obtain a clearance)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Telecommunications or related field


Preferred Qualifications:

Current U.S. Government Security Clearance is preferred

Techno-Functional Competency Requirements:



  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver with high quality

  • Ability to solve problems and work with minimum supervision

  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment


Core Technical Knowledge Requirements:



  • Excellent knowledge of installation and configuration of servers, routers, and switches


Preferred Technical Skills:

Working knowledge of wireless technologies such as LTE and GSM is a plus.

Cisco switch and routing experience at the CCNA level or higher is preferred.

Level Breakdown & Tiered Qualifications – Staff, Senior and Lead levels

Staff (2-4 years)



  • Experience: 2-4 years of engineering experience related to computer technology, telecommunications, or related systems integration roles.

  • Skill Focus: IP networking experience with Cisco Switch and Routing. STIG, RMF, software security implementation. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Good breadth of telecommunications technologies required.

  • Responsibilities: Maintain, operate, and test end-to-end customer solutions. Load software, configure, integrate, verify, and troubleshoot solutions onsite with the customer utilizing Oceus Networks products, 3rd party, and/or customized packages. Implement and maintain solution security posture, including STIG and RMF as required. Provide a technical interface to the customer for their specific areas. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel. Be proactive in keeping skillsets up to date. Interact with Managers, Project Managers, vendors, and others as required to meet project schedules. Interfaces with Oceus Customer Support to ensure customer issues are handled promptly and accurately.


Senior Level (5-7 years)



  • Experience: 5–7 years of engineering experience in computer technology, telecommunications, or related systems integration roles.

  • Skill Focus: Strong IP networking experience; Cisco switching and routing experience at CCNA level. Expertise with STIG, RMF, and secure software/system implementation. Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Broad understanding of telecommunications technologies and protocols.

  • Responsibilities: Lead the maintenance, operation, and testing of end-to-end customer solutions. Configure, integrate, verify, and troubleshooting solutions onsite using Oceus Networks products, third-party components, and customized packages. Oversee and enforce solution security posture requirements, including STIG and RMF implementation, and provide guidance to junior engineers. Serve as a senior technical interface to customers, translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Mentor staff engineers and proactively maintain advanced technical skillsets. Collaborate with managers, project managers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support project schedules and solution delivery. Work closely with Oceus Customer Support to ensure customer issues are resolved promptly and with high technical accuracy.



Lead Level (8-10 years)



  • Experience: 8–10 years of engineering experience in computer technology, telecommunications, or related systems integration roles.

  • Skill Focus: Excellent knowledge of server, router and switch installation and configuration. Deep IP networking expertise; hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching at or above the CCNA level (CCNP-level capability strongly preferred). Advanced knowledge of STIG, RMF, and secure system design/implementation across enterprise and tactical environments. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver technical clarity to diverse audiences. Proven ability to manage complex technical relationships, drive cross-team alignment, and lead technical decision-making. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and systems-level problem-solving skills. Broad understanding of telecommunications technologies, protocols, and integrated system architectures.

  • Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership for the maintenance, operation, optimization, and testing of complex end to end customer systems and mission critical deployments. Architect, configure, integrate, validate, and troubleshoot advanced solution stacks leveraging Oceus Networks platforms, third party technologies, and custom-developed components. Own and enforce the system security posture, leading STIG and RMF implementation efforts and establishing repeatable security compliance practices across engineering teams. Act as the principal technical liaison to customers, translating complex system behaviors and requirements into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Mentor and develop engineering staff, providing direction on best practices, design principles, and emerging technologies to elevate overall team capability. Coordinate with program leadership, project managers, vendors, and cross functional engineering groups to ensure technical deliverables meet schedule, quality, and performance requirements. Partner closely with Oceus Customer Support to drive rapid, technically accurate resolution of escalated issues and continuously improve supportability of deployed solutions.
