IT Support & Automation Specialist

Position Overview

The priority is IT: device management, security, accounts, and support across a distributed team, working from a device management baseline that is being put in place now. Alongside that you will work on internal automation and software projects, with the balance shifting further toward development as you get established.

We build with AI tools as a matter of course, and we encourage the same here. Used well they take care of a lot of routine work, which is a large part of what makes the development side of this role realistic to grow into.

What You’ll Do

IT administration

• Operate and maintain the remote device management platform, including enrollment, policy, compliance, and new device setup
• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and SharePoint, including accounts, licensing, permissions, and shared-drive structure
• Run employee onboarding and offboarding end to end, covering hardware, access provisioning, and device recovery
• Manage VPN and remote access
• Keep security baselines, monitoring, and patching current, and work incidents through to resolution
• Support remote and in-office staff, and document processes as you go

• Build and maintain internal automation and integration alongside our existing platforms
• Contribute to the internal web tools used by the engineering and project teams
• Support Monday.com automations and integrations as that platform rolls out
• Use AI coding assistants to build and ship faster, with the judgment to check what they produce
• Script repetitive IT and operations tasks rather than repeating them

• 2+ years in IT administration or IT support, including hands-on work with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
• Exposure to endpoint and device management (Intune or comparable) and to endpoint security practice
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, VPN, and access control
• Demonstrable scripting or programming ability, Python preferred. Comfortable automating tasks, not only operating tools
• Practical use of AI tools in your own work, and a sense of where they help and where they do not
• Clear written communication and the discipline to document what you build
• Intune specifically preferred
• Exposure to web development, such as Python/FastAPI or JavaScript/React, or a clear willingness to grow into it preferred
• Familiarity with Azure preferred
• Experience at a small company where you owned an area outright preferred
