Job Title: Azure Network Engineer
Location(s): Lake Mary, FL or Pittsburg, PA
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Azure Network Engineer with strong hands-on expertise designing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure networking environments. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Azure networking services, hybrid connectivity, network security, and Infrastructure-as-Code automation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of overall network engineering experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Azure Virtual Networks (VNets)
- Subnets
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Azure ExpressRoute circuits
- Azure VPN Gateway
- Azure Firewall
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals:
- TCP/IP
- Routing and switching
- DNS and DHCP
- BGP
- VPN protocols, including IPsec/IKEv2
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure.
- Experience using Terraform or Ansible for network deployment, configuration, automation, and change control.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, including network segmentation, least-privilege access, and firewall policy management.
- Scripting/automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI.
- Security+ certification.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience with Azure Virtual WAN.
- Experience with Azure Front Door.
- Experience designing or supporting multi-region Azure network architectures.
- Experience integrating third-party network/security appliances with Azure, including:
- Palo Alto
- Cisco
- Fortinet
- Experience with Aviatrix.
- Strong BGP routing experience.
- Multi-cloud networking experience across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Cisco networking experience, including routing and switching.
- Azure networking
- Azure VNets and subnets
- NSGs
- ExpressRoute circuits
- Azure VPNs
- Terraform and/or Ansible deployment
- Hybrid Azure/on-premises connectivity
- Network troubleshooting and security
- Aviatrix
- BGP routing
- Palo Alto firewalls
- Multi-cloud networking — AWS/GCP/Azure
- Cisco routing and switching
- Design, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Azure network infrastructure.
- Configure and manage VNets, subnets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and Azure Firewall.
- Support reliable and secure hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and Azure.
- Troubleshoot routing, VPN, DNS, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Implement network infrastructure using Terraform or Ansible.
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI.
- Apply network security best practices, including segmentation, access control, and firewall policy management.
- Support BGP routing and complex hybrid/multi-region network architectures.
- Integrate and troubleshoot third-party security and networking appliances within Azure.
- Participate in network changes, configuration management, documentation, and operational support.
- Security+ — Required
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or Azure Administrator Associate — Required.
