Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day IT operations for a busy office environment, including escalations, executive/VIP support, and hands-on troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Administer identity and access management (IAM) including Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, SSO (Single Sign-On) using SAML, and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication); manage user lifecycle and access controls.
  • Manage endpoint administration and device lifecycle for Windows and Apple/macOS systems, including provisioning, imaging, patching, and software deployment using Intune (MDM), Automox, and related tooling.
  • Support multi-OS environments (Windows, macOS, Linux) and virtual desktop solutions including AWS WorkSpaces and other VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) platforms.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including firewalls (PF Sense/pfSense), switching/routing, and WiFi networks using Cisco, Meraki, and Ubiquiti equipment.
  • Operate monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows using tools such as New Relic and PagerDuty; track uptime, performance, and service health.
  • Administer security and compliance tooling including endpoint protection/EDR, vulnerability scanning and remediation, and security hardening (e.g., Check Point/CheckPoint Harmony, Rapid7).
  • Create and maintain IT policies, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), runbooks, and technical documentation; ensure processes are current and audit-ready.
  • Resolve and manage support requests through Jira (or similar ticketing systems), ensuring clear communication, accurate categorization, and timely closure.
  • Lead technical projects end-to-end (planning, execution, milestones, risk management, stakeholder updates), including infrastructure upgrades and security initiatives.
  • Run onboarding/offboarding workflows including account creation/deprovisioning, equipment setup/return, access provisioning, and documentation updates.
  • Build automation and scripting to reduce manual effort and improve consistency (PowerShell and related scripting/automation tools).
  • Support and maintain conference room and meeting technology (AV), including troubleshooting audiovisual systems for presentations and hybrid meetings.
  • Analyze service metrics and operational data to improve IT service delivery, reduce recurring incidents, and strengthen user experience.
  • Partner with teammates to share knowledge, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices across systems administration and service management.
  • Follow change management processes and security standards; maintain enterprise management consoles and monitoring platforms.
  • Provide on-site support at least four days per week.


Core Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of IT operations / systems engineering experience supporting organizations with 150+ users in corporate or enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own office IT operations, handle complex escalations, and make sound technical decisions under pressure.
  • Strong experience across systems administration, endpoint management, networking fundamentals, and security tooling in multi-platform environments.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) practices (incident, problem, change management).
  • 3+ years of project leadership/project management experience delivering technical initiatives end-to-end.
  • Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation, process workflows, SOPs, and operational reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset with the ability to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services (including AWS WorkSpaces) and SaaS administration (e.g., Salesforce, Dropbox).
  • Experience with JAMF/Jamf Pro for Apple device management.
  • Understanding of database fundamentals and basic SQL.
  • Experience managing WiFi networks, wireless security, and access point deployment.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Google Workspace.
