Indexed description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect to serve as a key technical leader responsible for shaping and maturing the organization's overall security program. This role will focus on developing security strategy, establishing governance frameworks, defining security standards, and ensuring the long-term effectiveness of security initiatives across enterprise and operational technology (OT) environments.

The ideal candidate is an experienced security architect who has successfully built, enhanced, or transformed cybersecurity programs and can work across technical and business teams to drive security maturity. While hands-on security experience is important, the primary focus of this role is security architecture, program development, governance, and strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior security architecture leader and trusted advisor to IT and business stakeholders.
  • Help define and mature the organization's cybersecurity strategy, roadmap, and long-term security objectives.
  • Establish and maintain security standards, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Evaluate current security capabilities and identify opportunities to improve overall security posture.
  • Design security architectures and reference frameworks that support business and operational objectives.
  • Partner with infrastructure, operations, risk, compliance, and data privacy teams to ensure security requirements are integrated into technology initiatives.
  • Lead security architecture reviews and provide guidance on security controls, integrations, and best practices.
  • Support incident response planning, readiness, and post-incident improvement activities.
  • Assess security risks associated with cloud environments, third-party vendors, manufacturing systems, and operational technology environments.
  • Mentor technical teams and help establish repeatable security processes across the organization.
  • Serve as a key contributor in security program planning, budgeting, prioritization, and maturity initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of cybersecurity experience, including experience in security architecture, security leadership, or enterprise security program development.
  • Demonstrated experience building, maturing, or transforming enterprise security programs.
  • Experience creating and maintaining security policies, standards, governance processes, and security frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture principles and risk management practices.
  • Experience collaborating with executive leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or supporting incident response activities and improving organizational security processes.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management concepts, endpoint security, security operations, and enterprise security controls.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Experience securing distributed enterprise environments with multiple locations and production operations.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as:
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • CIS Controls
  • ISO 27001
  • IEC 62443
  • Experience evaluating or overseeing endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, Cortex XDR, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with identity security, privileged access management (PAM), and cloud security technologies.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF, Microsoft Security, GIAC, or similar.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a cybersecurity architect who has successfully helped organizations build and sustain mature security programs rather than someone whose experience is primarily focused on day-to-day security engineering. The ideal candidate can define strategy, create governance and operational processes, influence technical direction, and help establish a scalable security program that supports long-term business objectives.

Experience with security tools such as CrowdStrike, CyberArk, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, or other enterprise security platforms is valuable; however, the ability to design, mature, and lead a comprehensive cybersecurity program is significantly more important than expertise in any specific technology.
