We are seeking an experienced Director of Security to lead cybersecurity across corporate IT, manufacturing facilities, and OT/ICS environments. This individual will be responsible for developing security strategy while remaining hands-on enough to assess plant environments, identify vulnerabilities, and work directly with technical and operational teams.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing cybersecurity, OT network security, and plant security and can effectively operate at both the strategic and technical levels.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the organization’s cybersecurity strategy across IT, OT, and manufacturing environments.
- Develop and implement security standards for plants, OT networks, ICS/SCADA, and production systems.
- Assess plant environments and identify cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities.
- Partner with IT, engineering, automation, infrastructure, and plant leadership to improve security without disrupting operations.
- Develop and maintain IT/OT network segmentation and security architecture.
- Lead incident response, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and risk management programs.
- Evaluate and implement security technologies, policies, and controls.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership when needed while maintaining a strategic, executive-level perspective.
- Communicate cybersecurity risks, priorities, and investments to senior leadership.
- Lead and develop internal security resources and external security partners.
- 8+ years of cybersecurity, information security, infrastructure security, or related experience.
- Proven experience securing manufacturing plants and OT/ICS environments.
- Strong understanding of OT networks, industrial systems, network segmentation, and plant cybersecurity.
- Experience working directly with engineering, automation, controls, IT, and plant operations teams.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise security, including network security, endpoint security, identity, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Ability to be both hands-on technically and strategic organizationally.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work with both technical teams and executive leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience with ICS/SCADA, PLCs, industrial automation, or manufacturing control systems.
- Knowledge of NIST, NIST 800-82, IEC 62443, or CIS Controls.
- CISSP, CISM, or related certification.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity across multiple manufacturing facilities.
