Risk & Assurance Manager

Compensation: $110-160k base/yr + Bonus + Benefits + Options

Summary: You will be a key part of the Risk & Assurance team. You will challenge how first-line teams identify risk and design controls, run the issue lifecycle from incident through validated closure, and give the Chief Risk Officer and the Senior Executive Team a risk picture they can trust and move efficiently to act on. The role requires an individual whose influence with the business comes from being consistently accurate, clear, and useful in helping effectively manage the business.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Conducting independent reviews of risk identification and control design across operational, technology, payment, and governance risks.
• Facilitating risk assessments and translating technical details into clear risk implications.
• Evaluating control design to ensure scalability and advocating for proactive monitoring and analytics.
• Managing the issue lifecycle from incident intake to validated closure and ensuring risk acceptance is documented and approved.
• Maintaining an accurate enterprise risk register and improving GRC platform configurations.
• Producing reports on risk posture and control effectiveness for senior leadership.
• Supporting internal audits and coordinating with external assessors.
• Building strong relationships with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure proactive risk management.
• Utilizing AI for drafting, pattern-finding, and analytics while maintaining evidence discipline.
• Bringing at least five years of relevant experience, with a preference for financial services or fintech backgrounds.
