About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to help strengthen and evolve its enterprise security program. This role is ideal for a security professional who can bridge the gap between business objectives, risk management initiatives, and technical security controls. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity solutions that protect critical systems, networks, data, and cloud environments.
In addition to hands-on engineering responsibilities, this individual will provide guidance to technical teams, support security governance initiatives, and promote cybersecurity best practices across the organization.
MUST have experience writing and creating security procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, administer, and optimize security technologies across on-premises and cloud environments, including firewalls, CASB, IPS, WAF, MFA, SIEM, endpoint protection platforms (EDR/DLP), and vulnerability management solutions.
- Develop and maintain security standards, policies, and baseline configurations across IT, OT, ICS, IoT, networking, operating systems, cloud platforms, encryption, data protection, and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability reviews, and risk evaluations of systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Monitor and analyze security events through SIEM platforms and support incident detection, investigation, and response activities.
- Partner with business stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, Human Resources, and IT teams, to align cybersecurity initiatives with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Create, track, and report on security metrics, risks, control effectiveness, and security-related events to management and leadership teams.
- Support the organization's cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives while promoting a strong security culture.
- Participate in threat modeling exercises and security reviews for new technologies, applications, and cloud services.
- Mentor junior team members and champion cybersecurity best practices throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or a related discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience implementing and managing enterprise security technologies, including:
- Firewalls
- Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
- Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
- SIEM platforms
- Endpoint Security (EDR/DLP)
- Vulnerability Management Solutions
- Cloud Security Controls
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity operations, security architecture, and risk management principles.
- Experience conducting threat modeling and security assessments for applications, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity environments.
- Experience securing cloud workloads within AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
- Ability to communicate technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Regulatory & Framework Experience
Experience with one or more of the following security, compliance, or governance frameworks is highly desirable:
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
- ISO 27001 / ISO 27002
- GDPR
- Privacy and Data Protection Best Practices
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- ITIL
- Enterprise Risk Management and Security Governance Programs
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications
Candidates with one or more of the following certifications are highly encouraged to apply:
