Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team. The position requires a professional who can design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications and systems to support the business's ongoing operational and technological requirements. The successful candidate will work as part of the team and contribute to software development, system improvements, troubleshooting, debugging, documentation and technical support in line with business needs. Weekday and weekend availability is required as per business needs.

  • Provide remote or on-site software engineering support to project teams, troubleshooting application and system issues, resolving software defects, and assisting with the configuration, integration, and maintenance of software systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Developing, modifying, and maintaining program code in line with system requirements, design specifications, and recognised quality standards.
  • Testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving programming errors and application faults in accordance with established testing procedures, quality standards, and security requirements.
  • Designing and developing tools and supporting technologies required for effective software management, maintenance, and security.
  • Conducting research, consulting, and assessing system and application requirements.
  • Gathering, monitoring, and analysing operational performance metrics to assess system effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact product performance, reliability, functionality, and security throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Reviewing existing systems to identify technological constraints, gaps, and deficiencies in related processes, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Implementing encryption and decryption processes to protect sensitive information and ensure secure data transmission and storage.
  • Overseeing software testing processes and automating application and software deployment activities.
  • Preparing, updating, and maintaining technical documentation, end-user guides, program documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Conducting forensic investigations and analysing system data to detect unusual activities, vulnerabilities, and potential security threats.
  • Providing technical advice and expertise in software design proposals and strategies, including cost analysis, financial assessments, and recommendations for software procurement and upgrades.
  • Designing and implementing continuous improvement and continuous delivery strategies across software development and system design processes.
  • Designs, develops, enhances, documents, tests, deploys, installs, and provides ongoing support and maintenance for software applications and systems.

About The Candidate

  • Must have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience working as a Software Engineer.
  • Must have a bachelor's or higher qualification.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
