Security Engineer

Summary

Our client is a growing technology organization seeking a Security Engineer to join its expanding security function. The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of security initiatives, helping protect critical systems, improve security capabilities, and support the continued development of the organization's security program.

The Role

You'll work alongside security and technology teams to identify and address security risks, investigate potential threats, and improve the organization's security capabilities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different areas of cybersecurity and taking ownership of security projects from identification through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to security events, incidents, and potential threats.
• Identify, assess, and help remediate security vulnerabilities and risks.
• Implement and maintain security technologies, controls, and monitoring capabilities.
• Support security assessments and reviews across systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Work with technology teams to identify security improvements and drive remediation.
• Develop and improve security processes, tooling, and operational capabilities.
• Contribute to wider security projects and initiatives as organizational priorities evolve.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience within cybersecurity or information security.
• Strong understanding of fundamental security concepts, threats, vulnerabilities, and risk.
• Hands-on experience working with security technologies, tools, or platforms.
• Experience investigating security issues and working through technical problems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Experience working in a fast-paced security or technology environment.
