THE ROLE
The Application Specialist I provides technical and sales support to customers by preparing quotations, processing orders, recommending products, and resolving customer inquiries. Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, this role helps ensure a high level of service while supporting sales growth, accurate order management, and successful project execution
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and follow up on customer quotations
- Provide technical support, product recommendations, costing, and proposal development
- Translate customer requirements into accurate product and solution recommendations
- Process customer orders and monitor order status through completion
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution
- Communicate with customers by phone and email regarding products, orders, and technical inquiries
- Troubleshoot customer issues and work with internal teams and manufacturers to resolve concerns
- Deliver after sales support to ensure customer satisfaction
- Support business growth by identifying opportunities and strengthening customer relationships
- Prepare proposals based on customer requirements, market conditions, and product offerings
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quotes, orders, and projects
- Compile and organize vendor documentation for customer projects
- Support collections and payment follow up activities in partnership with the Accounting team
- Follow established sales processes, systems, and procedures to ensure operational efficiency
- College diploma in a related field
- 3 to 6 years of experience in a technical sales, customer service, Inside sales, or related role
- Proficiency with order entry and quoting systems (Epicor P21 or similar)
- Understanding of customer service principles and best practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Fast-paced environment in a dynamic competitive industry
- Daily customer and inter-departmental/branch communication via telephone calls, faxes, emails, and virtual meetings
- Exposure to deadlines, multiple demands and priorities, multi-tasking, and interruptions
