Title: Financial Assistance Specialist

Position Details

  • Location: Hybrid (after two weeks of onsite training), with the option to complete remote training on your personal computer until BayCare equipment is received. Quarterly onsite meetings may be required.
  • Status: Full time
  • Shift: 8:00am - 6:30pm (4 10-hour shifts)
  • Days: Monday through Friday / Every other Saturday

This Financial Assistance Specialist opportunity is a full-time hybrid position. Team members must reside in Florida.

This role requires onsite training in Tampa, Plant City, and Clearwater for 10 business days. The schedule is M-W 8:00AM-4:30PM / TH-FR 8:30AM - 5:00PM (after training, the team members will work the hours listed above).

Responsibilities

The Financial Assistance Specialist is responsible for identifying ER patients thru bedside assessment and interviews who may be eligible for financial and social assistance from community agencies. May act as a liaison between the patient and community agencies. The Financial Assistance Specialist must be able to clearly document all activities.

Certifications and Licensures

  • None required

Education

  • Required High School or equivalent

Experience

  • Required 3 years Healthcare customer service or Social Services with High School Diploma
  • OR 1 year Healthcare customer service or Social Services with an associate's degree
  • Preferred knowledge of community resources for unfunded/ underfunded patients
