As a Senior PHP Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling high-performance backend systems. You will take ownership of complex technical solutions, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of secure, robust, and maintainable code aligned with fintech industry standards. ## Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using PHP (8.x) and modern frameworks (Laravel or Symfony). - Architect robust, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with fintech standards. - Build and maintain REST APIs, ensuring proper versioning and backward compatibility. - Optimize database performance (MySQL/MariaDB), including query tuning, schema design, and migrations. - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (Docker). - Ensure code quality through testing strategies (unit, integration, feature tests) and code reviews. - Apply SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture in everyday development. - Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations. - Enforce security best practices (OWASP, secure authentication flows, data protection, GDPR compliance). - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and technical guidance. - Contribute to technical decision-making, challenge requirements constructively, and promote best practices. ## Requirements - 5+ years of professional experience in software development - Expert-level knowledge of PHP 8.x and modern development practices - 5+ years of experience with Laravel or Symfony, including deep framework understanding - Strong experience with MySQL or MariaDB (query optimization, schema design, normalization) - Solid understanding of REST API design principles - Proficiency with Git (branching strategies, code reviews, release workflows) - Experience with PHPUnit and defining test strategies - Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized production environments - Strong knowledge of caching strategies and performance optimization - Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub preferred) - Solid understanding of Composer and dependency management - Comfortable working in Linux/CLI environments - Strong understanding of security best practices in web applications ## Soft Skills - Ability to independently design and architect solutions - Strong problem-solving mindset with focus on maintainability and scalability - Confidence to challenge requirements and propose better alternatives - Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions - Experience leading initiatives or small teams - Strong written communication skills in async environments ## Nice to Have - Experience in fintech or financial services domain - Frontend development skills ( or React) - Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) - Previous experience in technical interviewing or hiring ## What We Offer - Salary range: €5500 - €7000 (GROSS) / month. - Fully remote work with flexible work hours and vacation policy. - A diverse international work environment that promotes inclusivity and collaboration. - Internal mentorship program. - Additional healthcare insurance, loyalty days. - Compensated professional development opportunities, including learning materials and certification exam fees. - Internal events and Learning Sessions. - Team-building compensation every quarter. - Participation in local events in Lithuania such as wakeboarding, excursions, and Meet and Eat gatherings. - Ability to change the project you’re working on. - Referral bonuses.
