We're seeking an experienced Relationship Manager to own customer relationships, drive growth, and deliver exceptional value. As our NZ trusted advisor, you will resolve customers' challenges, ensuring their success, and identifying opportunities to expand our partnership. This is a client-facing role where strategic thinking, consultative selling, and customer empathy are essential.
This role requires you to travel across New Zealand to attend events & client meetings.
(This role is internally known as Account Manager).
What you’ll be doing:
- Own the client relationship end-to-end: manage multiple stakeholders, ensure client product adoption and complete product demonstrations.
- Act as a strategic trusted advisor: understand customer KPIs, align our product capabilities to their business needs, and hold in-depth strategic reviews
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts while ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships
- Leverage data and insights: use analytics to forecast pipeline, understand wins/losses, and identify market trends to inform strategy
- Build trust through responsiveness: anticipate customer needs and add value, prioritize inquiries, and maintain organized engagement records
- Communicate with precision: adapt your approach across email, chat, and phone; craft clear, empathetic written and verbal communications
- Drive customer success: complete onboarding training, best practice sessions, conduct regular check-ins, encourage feature adoption, proactively surface solutions to their challenges
- 3-4 years proven account management or customer success background
- Exposure to super, trust, or compliance environments (accounting/audit/financial services) is a plus or ability to quickly learn industry-specific challenges
- Consultative selling approach, connecting product capabilities to customer challenges
- Customer empathy with strong communication (written & verbal)
- Data-driven mindset: comfortable with analytics and reporting
- Problem-solving & conflict resolution with a customer-centric lens
- Excellent time management and follow up discipline
- Coachable and driven, takes feedback on board fast and uses it to keep pushing performance higher
- Team-first mindset, shares credit, supports colleagues, and puts the group's results ahead of individual recognition
- Deep product knowledge with ability to map features to customer value
- Strategic thinking: comfortable leading cross-functional projects
- Proficiency with CRM tools and analytics platforms
