We are looking for folks who are passionate about cannabis and want to help us move the dial forward on building an inclusive and professional cannabis culture.We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Operations & Employee Relations Coordinator to support our team by managing HR communications, coordinating employee relations processes, and maintaining accurate employee records. This role focuses on employee relations support, HR operations, and partnering with managers to ensure consistent and compliant people practices across the organization.What You'll DoServe as the first point of contact for HR by monitoring email and phone communications and triaging employee and manager inquiriesConduct intake for employee concerns, gathering detailed information and supporting employee relations investigationsAssist with employee relations processes, including documentation, follow-up interviews, and case coordinationSupport disciplinary actions and terminations, including preparation of documentation and participation in conversationsMaintain organized, compliant employee personnel files and documentationCoordinate onboarding processes and facilitate weekly new hire orientationSupport employee benefits administration, including eligibility communication and system updatesPartner with HR leadership and field managers to ensure consistent application of HR practicesAssist with job postings and recruiting coordination during high-volume hiring periodsWhat You Bring1-3 years of Human Resources experience, with exposure to employee relations, investigations, or compliance preferredStrong understanding of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee mattersExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong communication skills, with the ability to navigate difficult or sensitive conversationsAbility to think critically, gather information, and support problem-solving in employee situationsExperience in retail, multi-location environments, or regulated industries preferredFamiliarity with HR processes, documentation, and employment practicesWork Schedule & AvailabilityThis role is primarily scheduled during standard business hours; however, occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required to support employee relations matters, urgent HR issues, or operational needs across locations.RequirementsMust be at least 21 years of ageValid driver's license and ability to travel between locationsPrimary travel within the Portland metro area, with occasional travel to EugeneAbility to obtain and maintain a valid OLCC Marijuana Worker PermitPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit and work at a computer for extended periodsAbility to travel between locations as neededAbility to participate in in-person meetings and employee discussionsAbility to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptionsWhy Join Us?Opportunity to build hands-on experience in employee relations and HR operations across a multi-location organizationExposure to real-time HR decision-making and partnership with field leadershipCollaborative team environment focused on consistency, support, and growthStrong benefits package including partially employer-sponsored Medical/Vision, voluntary Dental, company-paid Life Insurance, PTO, Sick Time, Paid Holidays, and employee discountsEEO StatementGroundworks Services is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
