Accounts Payable Clerk

Salary: R23 000 per month

Remote Recruitment is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a UK-based finance team from South Africa. You will make sure suppliers are paid accurately and on time, and that the ledger tells the truth.

It is a good fit if you are careful with numbers, comfortable chasing a discrepancy until it resolves, and take quiet satisfaction in a clean reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and match them to purchase orders.
• Prepare payment runs and resolve queries before they hold things up.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate differences.
• Maintain accurate records in the accounting system.
• Liaise with suppliers professionally over payment queries.
• Support month-end close with clean, complete data.

What You Will Need

• Experience with accounts payable, bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
• Solid spreadsheet skills and strong attention to detail.
• Clear written and spoken English.
• A methodical approach to reconciliation work.

Working Hours

• Full-time position.
• Fully remote, based in South Africa.
• 09:00–17:00 UK time (11:00–19:00 SAST).
